Rather than bore you with a definition of geodes or how they formed (a short article by Peggy Fisherkeller, curator of geology, Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites sums it up pretty well), I'll just show you some photos for now.

If you want to go out exploring and find your own collection of geodes, remember to get permission from the land owners first. State parks have rules on what you can take and what you can do with them.
