The basic Tarot deck consists of 78 cards. That part of the deck referred to as the Major Arcana contains 22 cards, and are the more powerful cards in the deck depicting the journey to self awareness. The part of the deck referred to as the Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards, and are broken into four suits with fourteen cards in each suit. Each suit contains the numbered cards from one to ten, and the Page, Knight, Queen, and King.
